Arsenal host Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, December 2 at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League at 9:00 AM . Unai Emery has been very impressive in his first season as the new Arsenal manager, currently going 17 games undefeated in all competitions. Winning his first match in a North London Derby would be a huge achievement for Unai Emery, extending their run to 18 games and would level Arsenal on points with Tottenham.
Both teams come pumped and ready with Arsenal beating Bournemouth last Sunday with a new exciting 3-4-3 formation, and a win in the Europa League this Thursday with a squad featuring 6 players from the under-21 squad. Tottenham on the other hand come after beating Chelsea last week 3-1, giving Chelsea their first defeat this season in all competitions, and a win versus Inter Milan in the Champions league giving them hope to go to the knock-out stages.
Last season at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal beat Tottenham 2-0 with Shkodran Mustafi scoring a header of a free kick, and former Arsenal winger Alexis Sanchez with goal. Emery will be hoping his squad can get another win against Tottenham, with their last defeat against them at home being in November 2010.
Managers Pochettino and Emery are both expecting to win the match to fulfill their fans with bragging rights, and to help improve their chances to get into the top 4. If Arsenal win they’ll be leveled on points with Tottemham with 30 points, if Tottenham win, they’ll be 6 points clear from Arsenal with 33 points and retain their spot in third place.
