Paris Saint Germain have comfortably defeated RasenBallsport Leipzig 3-0 in their Champions League semi final, where they’ll head to the clubs first ever UCL final! Although Leipzig may have lost the match, their supporters should be proud of their side still as this was the clubs best run in their 11 year history and with star center back Dayot Upamecano extending his contract with the club, they can aim for a similar season for the 2020/21 campaign.
PSG have finally reached the UCL final since making the competition their main objective after dominating their respective league for the past decade. In 2017 PSG made their ambitions clear after breaking the world transfer record and signing Brazilian super star Neymar for 222 million Euros, paying his release clause at FC Barcelona. Since his arrival at Paris, he’s been plagued with injuries missing the round of 16 stages the last two seasons with PSG being eliminated in both rounds without their main man. This year however, Neymar has been fit and has played a crucial role in their road to UCL final. Since his UCL debut in the 2013/14 season, Neymar has created the most assists in the competition which is extremely impressive due to his injury curse at PSG.
This is the moment PSG have been waiting for, they’re are now into the final and are one game away from becoming the champions of Europe. Tomorrow we’ll find out if the Parisians will be facing French compatriots Lyon or German giants Bayern Munich on Sunday, where they’ll play the most important game in the clubs history.
